New Hope Academy Learning Center offer engaging, hands-on classes afterschool on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday to give students a balanced schedule that fits family life.

Each day features a variety of courses — from art and cooking to language, drama, and life skills — so students can explore new interests, develop talents, and grow in confidence.

Mondays are packed with creative and language-based courses for younger and older students alike. From art and photography to Spanish, students can develop skills, explore new interests, and strengthen their foundations in both academics and creativity.

Explore & Create

Monday

Tuesdays focus on interactive, skill-building experiences. Students can participate in cooking, public speaking, and advanced art classes designed to build confidence, teamwork, and practical abilities across all grade levels.

Hands-On Learning

Tuesday

Thursdays are all about enrichment and real-world skills. Courses like archery, car maintenance, home economics, and drama help students explore new passions, gain independence, and develop both personal and social skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Monday Classes

Start the week with art, photography, and language courses that spark imagination and build essential skills.

3-4 PM

Art: K – 2nd Grade

Materials Fee: $25

Classroom Size: 5-10 students

 

Develop awareness and appreciation of visual arts with hands-on projects that enhance creativity, fine motor skills, and problem-solving.

Explore beginning photography techniques, including digital imaging, color theory, and art critique through hands-on practice.

Spanish: K – 5

Materials Fee: $25

Learn conversational Spanish, basic vocabulary, and cultural awareness through interactive games and practice.

4-5 PM

Art: 3rd – 5th Grade

Materials Fee: $25

Hands-on art class focusing on creative expression and foundational skills across various mediums.

Begin Spanish language learning with listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises designed for older students.

Tuesday Classes

Engage in hands-on learning through cooking, public speaking, and studio art designed to grow confidence and creativity.

Cooking: K – 5th grade

Materials Fee: $40

Learn age-appropriate kitchen skills including measuring, mixing, knife safety, and cooking a variety of recipes.

Art – Studio Art: 9th – 12th Grade

Experiment with drawing, painting, printmaking, and design while developing individual artistic goals.

Public Speaking: All Grades

Materials: Notebook, pencil, recording device ($20)

Grades 3–12 focus on speech structure, presentation, confidence, and audience engagement, including debate and research skills.

4-5 PM

Art: 6th – 8th Grade

Materials Fee: $25

Explore two- and three-dimensional art forms, learning elements of art, principles of design, and historical/cultural contexts.

Advanced cooking techniques, reading recipes, ingredient substitutions, and kitchen math for teen learners.

Thursday Classes

End the week developing real-world skills in archery, car maintenance, home economics, and drama.

3-4 PM

Archery: 6th – 12th Grade

Materials Fee: $50

Classroom Size: 5-10 students

Focus on safety, fundamental archery skills, practice, and enrichment activities including games and journaling.

Age-appropriate lessons in kitchen skills, recipe reading, and ingredient measurements.

Home Economics & Life Skills – Beginner: 7th – 12th Grade

Classroom Size: 5-10 students

Hands-on learning in kitchen organization, budgeting, cleaning, first aid, child development, and career exploration.

4-5 PM

Drama: K – 12

Materials Fee: $20

Classroom Size: 5-10 students

Collaborative drama activities focusing on acting, improvisation, stagecraft, and creative expression across all grade levels.
